Shifting Mindsets on Body Mind & Soul Connections

As entrepreneurs, we often find ourselves stuck, no matter how many strategies we try or how much we invest in the latest coaching program. It’s frustrating, right? You know what you need to do, but something deep down is holding you back. That’s exactly where I found myself not too long ago. In my recent interview on Body Mind and Soul Connections with Lorna Gale, I shared my journey of feeling stuck, spinning my wheels, and how Brainspotting finally gave me the breakthrough I needed.

Here’s a deeper dive into that conversation and how Brainspotting could be the key to unlocking your potential.

Feeling Stuck: My Entrepreneurial Struggle

When I first started my business, I thought I had everything figured out. I was confident that my background as a paramedic, combined with my knowledge of insulin resistance (which I had after being diagnosed with PCOS), would help me guide women to better health. I knew the science, I had the passion, and I was determined to make a difference. But something strange happened when it came to marketing my business. Despite all my enthusiasm, I just couldn’t get it off the ground.

I signed up for one coaching program after another, hoping the next one would be the magic bullet. But every time I got to the marketing phase, I froze. I couldn’t move forward. Life was throwing challenges at me, from family health crises to unexpected losses, but deep down I knew something else was stopping me. I began to think, “Is there something wrong with me?”

The Turning Point: Discovering Brainspotting

Eventually, I started working for a business coaching company that supported therapists, and that’s where I first encountered Brainspotting. I had no idea what it was at the time, but I figured I’d give it a try. It turned out to be the most powerful tool I had ever come across.

Brainspotting is a unique technique that helps you process and release the emotional blocks that are stored deep within your brain—the kind that traditional mindset work just doesn’t touch. During my interview with Lorna, I explained how Brainspotting works using a simple metaphor: the brain is like a cauliflower. The outer parts of the brain are where we process memories, but when something feels too dangerous or overwhelming, the deeper parts—what I call the "lizard brain"—hold onto it.

This is why, no matter how hard we try to move forward, certain triggers bring back those old feelings and stop us in our tracks. Brainspotting helps release those memories and emotions in a safe, supported environment, allowing you to finally process them and move on.

The Power of Breakthrough

One of the most transformative moments during my journey came when I realized that my emotional blocks were the real reason I couldn’t market my business. It wasn’t a lack of knowledge, and it wasn’t that the programs I had invested in were wrong for me. It was the fear, the limiting beliefs, and the self-doubt that had built up over the years.

After just one Brainspotting session, I felt lighter. Suddenly, the idea of putting myself out there didn’t feel so scary. That’s the magic of Brainspotting—it works fast and gets to the core of what’s really holding you back. In my work with entrepreneurs, I’ve seen this same shift happen over and over. Clients who feel paralyzed by fear or imposter syndrome leave sessions feeling empowered, ready to take on the world.

During the Body Mind and Soul Connections interview, Lorna and I talked about how Brainspotting helps entrepreneurs overcome those invisible barriers to success. We explored the emotional side of entrepreneurship—the part that nobody likes to talk about but everyone experiences. I shared stories of clients who had breakthrough moments, like realizing, “If I fall, I can get back up.” Simple, right? But that kind of shift can completely transform how you approach your business and life.

We also touched on how Brainspotting isn’t about knowing the exact memory or situation that’s holding you back. You don’t need to relive traumatic experiences. Instead, it’s about feeling where that block is stored in your body and letting your brain guide the process of releasing it. That’s why Brainspotting works so well, even for those who can’t pinpoint exactly what’s holding them back.

Why Entrepreneurs Need Brainspotting

In my experience, entrepreneurs often feel like they have to push through mental blocks alone. But the truth is, those blocks are often emotional, not logical, and they need to be addressed at a deeper level. Brainspotting gives you a way to clear those emotional hurdles so you can finally step into your potential.

Imagine getting rid of the fear that’s been keeping you from making sales calls, or the doubt that makes you question your worth. After a Brainspotting session, many of my clients tell me it’s like flipping a switch—they suddenly see possibilities where before there were only obstacles.

Final Thoughts: You Have What It Takes

As I said to Lorna during the interview, you don’t need another course or strategy. Chances are, you already know what you need to do. What’s stopping you is a block that’s deeply rooted in your emotional brain, and Brainspotting could be the key to finally breaking through it. Whether you’re struggling with imposter syndrome, fear of failure, or anything else that’s holding you back, it’s time to get unstuck.

If you’re ready to experience this shift for yourself, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session with me. You might be just one Brainspotting session away from the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.
