Your First Online Health Coaching Session: What to Expect and How to Make the Most of It
You have decided to take control of your insulin resistance and recognized that online health coaching is a convenient and effective way to reach your goals and improve your well-being.
Your first session with me will be a 90-minute Deep Dive session, where we will work together to assess your current eating habits, identify your goals, and create a customized plan to help you reach them.
Here's what you can expect from your first online health coaching session and how to make the most of it.
What to Expect
A Thorough Assessment of Your Eating Habits: I will ask you questions about your current eating habits, likes, and dislikes. I'll also ask you about any food allergies or sensitivities you have. The goal is to get a comprehensive understanding of your current eating habits so we can find the best plans that are tailored to your needs.
An Examination of Your Goals: I will ask you about your health and wellness goals. This could include weight loss, improving your energy levels, reducing stress, or improving your sleep habits right alongside your desire to reverse your insulin resistance. Your goals will be used to guide future interventions and help you stay focused on what's important.
An Exploration of Your Schedule and Family/Social Life: I will ask you about your schedule, including work and family commitments. I'll also ask about your social life, including any events or activities that you attend regularly. This information will be used to create a customized plan that fits into your lifestyle and is sustainable over the long term.
A Customized Plan: Based on the information gathered during the session, we will work together to create your customized plan. This will include recommendations for healthy food options, meal planning, and tips for staying on track even when life gets busy. I will also provide you with tips for staying motivated and making changes that last. We will also schedule your first Brainspotting or Hypnosis/Meditation session.
Making the Most of Your Session
Be Prepared Before your session, take some time to think about your eating habits and your health and wellness goals. This will help you be more engaged in the conversation and make the most of the time we have together. Make sure to do the 3-day Food Journal as this will give us the best picture of what you are eating now so we have a realistic plan to move forward. PLEASE DON’T BE EMBARRASSED or afraid to tell the truth. This is just between us and I will NEVER judge you.
Be Honest During the session, be honest with me about what you're struggling with and what you need help with. The more open and honest you are, the more I can help you. As a paramedic of 20+ years, you will have a hard time surprising me. :)
Be Open to Feedback I am here to help you, so be open to their feedback and recommendations. I’ve worked with many people in similar situations and have the expertise to help you reach your goals as well as the intuition to help you understand what your body is saying.
Take Notes During the session, take notes on the recommendations and ideas we discuss. This will help you remember and make it easier to implement the changes you need to make. We will also record the sessions and you can request a link within 30 days so that you can download a copy to review or keep.
Follow-Up After the session, make sure to follow up with me. This could be through email, text, messenger, or another online session. Staying in touch will help you stay on track and make the most of your health coaching experience. I am here for you. If you don’t ask questions or don’t share your struggles and wins I cannot be all that you need.
